VINELink Coverage for St. Helena Releases
Louisiana’s VINE layer is commonly called the Louisiana Automated Victim Notification System, or LAVNS. It is reached through VINELink. The service supports one-person custody and status checks plus registration for selected custody events. DPS&C uses the system as its online person-search route. Louisiana also has a telephone locator for state facility placement, projected dates, and the assigned Probation and Parole district.
Statewide availability does not prove that every St. Helena Parish Jail event appears. The research did not locate an authoritative local page confirming the jail’s participation. Open the live agency selector and look for the exact St. Helena agency or call VINELink support at 1-866-277-7477. The official DPS&C parish directory confirms the facility identity, but not its VINE participation. If a local record appears, it can provide a status lead and alert option. Coverage also changes with custody type. A person transferred from St. Helena Parish Jail into DPS&C custody may appear under a later state record. A PIN was not independently verified in the current Louisiana web interface. It should be described conditionally. Legacy VINE telephone enrollment commonly uses one, while other channels may use a different method. Platform labels can change, so the live screen is the authority for the enrollment steps.
Notifications can fail or arrive after an agency update. Keep the Sheriff, DPS&C locator, or other correct agency contact as the final source. An alert is a prompt to verify, not a certified release record.
St. Helena LAVNS Agency Records
St. Helena Parish has no verified separate Sheriff release-alert portal. The local notification layer is the statewide LAVNS and VINELink service. Agency selection therefore carries unusual weight. A St. Helena Parish Jail entry can describe the local booking stage, while a later DPS&C entry can describe state custody or supervision. Both may be accurate at different points in time.

Federal and Registry Release Checks
VINELink does not cover federal Bureau of Prisons custody. Use the BOP Inmate Locator for a federal episode. A former federal result may state that the person is released or not in BOP custody and may include a date. That wording still does not prove community freedom because state, local, USMS, or immigration custody may follow.
ICE’s locator is current-custody oriented and is not a durable release-history source. If a St. Helena release record says “released to ICE,” treat the event as a transfer and use ICE channels. The Louisiana State Police sex-offender registry is also separate. It covers only people with a legal registration duty, not all people released from jail or prison.
Each system answers one question. VINELink reports participating-agency status and alerts. The Sheriff confirms the local exit. DPS&C handles state sentence and supervision information.
